Cell Group Ministry Conference at Ipoh

Days after days of rushing my June assignments... By the time the conference arrived I was a little burnt out. However, I was really looking forward to the enrichment/empowerment/challenges it would provide me in my walk with God as well as in ministry.
Ben and I were hosted by a very kind and gentle Aunty Cynthia from Canning Garden Methodist Church, Ipoh. The guest room was huge with an old-fashioned AC (haha) that made cute humming sounds all night.
I was exhausted but I could hardly sleep my first night in the room... Probably because of my silly allergies which decided to show up - resulting in a blocked nose. Also, the tunes from the many Hillsong songs I used to listen to back in uni kept playing in my head for some weird reason... Argh! :( In the wee hours of the morning, I did fall asleep for a little while - and then my alarm clock rang!
Conference was good. I was zombified... but I was still captivated by Bishop HY's sermons...kinda zoned out and stoned in the afternoon workshops though, partially because I am not usually an afternoon person. Also, I realized that the content of the workshops I picked was repetitive of that which I had been studying in MBTS last term. So yeah, I admit, I admit... I got a little bored. (So it wasn't the fault of the presenters or the lesson content.)

Ben was seen to take down notes diligently...*aww*

Meal times...

After the workshops were over in the late afternoon (on Saturday), Tairven, Ben and I were just spending time with one another - eating at "Bawah Pokok" and gallivanting at Kinta City Mall (Jusco, Ipoh) till dinner time. Dr. Chang took us out for dinner.

Saturday night session with Bishop HY.

After the Saturday night session, Ben and I were supposed to have gone back to sleep (Tairven and most of the Trinity people went out with the Seows who were temporarily back from Papua New Guinea) - but we were not quite so "guai"... :P We went out with Victor (pic below) and some of the Penang Wesleyans to this ice-cream shop, where we yakked and yakked. Victor's going off to study in a seminary in Singapore in a week's time... so Ben and I were "interviewing" him about his calling, how he heard from God, etc, etc... I truly enjoyed it. Last time, people were "interviewing" me with wide-opened eyes... so now, it felt awesomely great to be "interviewing" someone else! Haha. More than anything, Victor's testimony of how God worked in his life really touched and encouraged us.

The 2nd night, my allergies weren't too bad (although the songs were still playing up in my head). So I could have better quality sleep.

Tairven's, Ben's and my final destination before heading home to Penang on Sunday afternoon, after the final service.... Stadium. Yummy food. Ben and I never fail to come here everytime we are in Ipoh somehow.
no 3-in-1 soya dessert though... oh well, the next time then!
