Muse: Touch

The soft, consoling hug of a mother.
A gentle squeeze for the hand of the grieving.
A pat on one's shoulder to encourage.
The parting embrace of a friend.
The persuasive tugging of a child on one's sleeve.
The playful shove of a best friend whose leg was pulled.
The tender kiss of a spouse before he leaves home for work.
The warm palpating hand of a doctor upon an aching belly.
The application of salve and the careful treatment of wounds.
A keen handshake for a new acquaintance.
A reassuring cuddle for a sick baby.
A back-rub for a woman in labour.
A human crutch for the physically disabled.

The subtly vibrating keys of the piano that meet a pianist's fingers as they exert pressure.

....Some meaningful forms of touch that convey a sense of being wanted and accepted.... that enliven.
