Met my former dean of medicine at a Wake Service last night. A divinely appointed co-incidence, surely.
He looked blur when I waved at him and said, "Hi, Prof. L!" - BUT because someone had mentioned me to him sometime this year, he remembered that I was the Grace who "left medicine for her vocation" as soon as I mentioned that I knew his friend. And he looked so happy to finally put a face to my name. We chatted.
"You must have been really clear of God's calling," he said. "I was so happy to hear about it." (Which was strange and unexpected, coming from the dean of medicine. It was also strange that he didn't ask me the typical, "So you really won't be going back to medicine?")
God never runs out of great and amazing ways to help my unbelief and lift up my soul.
"Please keep in touch. You must come and visit us in our church sometime."
