Wednesday: A day of Pain and Bread

Let's see... I woke up with loads of bloating and abdominal pain today.

Because the pain got really bad and alarming after a while (I couldn't even stand or sleep straight), I called off a lunch appointment with my best friend, called my obstetrician and drove to the hospital for an emergency assessment. Baby looked fine via the ultrasound scan (much to my relief) and my urine test was clear, so the doctor dismissed my condition as a mysterious case of food poisoning. I suspect that it was the vegetable-dish that we ate for dinner the night before. Expired vegies. Or perhaps, my stomach did not take kindly to Chinese cabbage.

Felt the baby's familiar moves inside my belly and was reassured despite my pain.

Anyway... it was pills and bread for most of the day. And plenty of sleep.

Felt well enough to go out with friends for steamboat in the evening. Being with them, even while sustaining a belly ache (albeit not as severe as that in the morning), really made my day. :')

I am thankful, God.
