Muse and Friday

I guess it's nothing new... the higher your expectations are for a person, yourself, or the outcome of a given situation, the higher your chances of disappointment are.

So what do you do? Zero your expectations? Can we really do that without giving up on our held values?

Just a random muse.

This is me on a Friday afternoon, at the office, post-lunch. It has been a delightful week for me, and I have so much to give thanks for. Pleasant, soul-enriching work... my spacious desk facing a window with a splendid view of trees and the sweet, blue sky (the drawers are well-stocked with food, ehem)... free lunches... flexible work hours... wonderful colleagues (fellow MBTS alumni and friends)... and loads of drawing to do (I'm certainly de-rusting). Quite the dream so far. It is a little hard (for me) to imagine that I am doing missions while I sit here, sketching. Indeed, she who hopes in the Lord will not be disappointed.

Valentines' Day. I thank God for the love of my friends and family members that keeps me alive. It is the day for my sentimental springs to flow - and I don't have to be sorry about being corny. ;')
