Some of the online conversations, which I've had on Facebook, went on for more than a year (and are still going on) ~ technically ~ because I never deleted them. This continuity applies especially to my conversations with the friends who text me at least once a week. (There are 52 full weeks in a year, by the way ~ faithful texters.) It is like we continued where we left off every time.
Reflecting on those conversations, I am trying to remember how they began. What was it that made us comfortable, eventually, to interact so regularly and casually with each other? Why do the conversations with certain people, and not all, withstand the test of time - and how?
For a sentimental soul like me, who re-reads parts of our conversations every now and then to reminisce, to wonder, to laugh and to remember a particular friend, I wonder what I'd do if I were to accidentally delete any of them.
No, I don't think that I could bear it.
