Walking
This has been one very happy weekend for me (probably the best I've had in ages).
Sophie stood up on her own, from squatting position, some days ago. Previously, she would pull herself up with the help of furniture. She is probably as thrilled as we are at her new achievement. She never fails to applaud herself each time she does it. I love her self-esteem. :)
On Saturday, we bought her a pair of new shoes to celebrate the wonderful person she is (she's outgrown all her other shoes) - and voila - she's moved on from cruising barefooted around our home to doing her drunken-style walking around the malls! We are not sure who is holding tighter to whose hand while she stumbles around - she to ours, or us to hers - but the happy grin on her face while she walks and discovers the world from the new angle makes our nerves (and exhaustion and backaches) worth it. She is not confident at walking on her own yet - she would take a few steps unaided every now and then - but then again, we are not rushing her because it is just a matter of time. I will just enjoy this phase while I can. Soon, she will be running too fast for me to catch up.
Keep it up, Sophie girl! We are so proud of you.
