Sophie's diaries : 2 years 7 months

Dearest S,

I am a very blessed mom.

Even when your cries scare the living daylights out of me (only because I have a wild imagination and you can be too curious for your own good)... even when you break my heart by going against my orders... even when you throw a hissy fit over something... or even when you land me in awkward situations (like pulling out a maxi sanitary pad from my bag in public and insisting loudly that I tell you all about it)... I am blessed.

Our difficulties aside, there is so much more of you that I enjoy:

The warm smell of your skin and hair as you snuggle up to me whenever, wherever.

Your kisses, ever so affectionate and earnest.

Your preference for mummy when it comes to taking showers, "bao bao" (carry) and etc. So precious to me. (Poor daddy though.)

Your humour, your ability to laugh and to make us laugh despite our stress and anxiety.

Your "Thank you, mummy" and "You're welcome, mummy" (even in the middle of the night) which encourage me... that I ain't doing too badly in teaching you manners.

Your little voice calling out to me in the middle of the night because you need a drink.

2 years 7 months.

Can't believe that you're only 5 months away from being 3. You now call others by their names and tease your family members by calling us by our full names (among other forms of teasing). You love checking out the pictures and videos on my phone (I'd like to think that it's my photography skills that you admire *grin*). You tell us cute stories of your own and recite your favourite nursery rhymes. You observe and remember the randomest details that hardly anybody would even notice (well, we are all tired adults). You adore Christmas trees, funfairs, and all things magical. And finally, you love watching Peppa Pig.

Loving you, sweetheart.
