Self-talk

Some things of which I need to remind myself tonight...

We may forget...
...but God never forgets.

If we - as human beings - are faithful to express our gratitude to Him for what He has done, what more God Himself, who is faithful even when we are not. He is always faithful by the way...

He remembers everything we've done for His Kingdom, for His Church, for His people, for Him... and He never short-changes our faith even when we feel like He's intent on doing so or is doing so. He can - but He won't. After all, Abraham believed and his faith was credited to him as righteousness.

It may have been very long since you served God - but He still remembers it. Your work was and still is important to God. Your gifts, sacrifices and offerings were and still are important to God. Every utterance of praise was and still is valuable to God - as a father delights over the admiration of his son/daughter. The prodigal son was never forgotten. His father celebrated his return. The prodigal son's brother was never taken for granted. His father still proclaimed him heir over all his possessions even though this son worked with the wrong attitude. Such grace.

God's love that springs from a Father's heart is unfailing - whether or not we feel it. Tonight, I just need to be reminded of this.

If I really map out the course of my life and make effort to remember, there are too many evidences pointing in the direction of this fact to be glossed over: God's love shown through that of my friends, family, and etc has been unfailing... even through the bitterest of the coldest winters of life. Hope only happens when we start to remember.

And remembering only happens when we want to remember... or are open to ruminate over the memories that come to mind.

God, I pray... that You would help me to remember Your faithfulness.
