People often tell me that the first impression I give them... is that I am "prim and proper".
I didn't like the expression at first.
In one of Enid Blyton's books I read (loved Enid Blyton's writings, btw) ~ "prim and proper" was somehow given a negative connotation. The prim and proper girl in the story was the teacher's pet. Therefore, I grew up with this idea that "prim and proper" indicated an arrogantly priggish and exaggeratedly conforming people-pleaser. Or goodie-goodie-two-shoes. You get my drift...
Recently, I have become more accepting of the "prim and proper" thing... that it is not necessarily bad. It's a matter of your perspective.
Maybe, it has got something to do with me, accepting that God has wired me to be a certain way - my personality as well as through my up-bringing, life experiences, significant influences, etc.
