Deepavali 2011

Ben was on a holiday - so I got to wake up earlier than him for once, haha. Gives you a clue what time I wake up on weekdays, right? xP

We didn't do much... Went for a 32 km cycle in the morning; we chatted to our Indian neighbors (who kindly gave us some Deepavali goodies - I'm so grateful for the muruku  *Slurps* - my husband doesn't fondly say that I'm tam chiak for nothing) and then went out for a hearty lunch. After lunch, we came back and relaxed at home. I tried studying for Friday's test - but I didn't get that much done. I know it's because I was feeling a lil' too relaxed for words (a nicer way to say that I was lazy) - but the weather, I must say, really killed every desire I had to move and think. It was so extremely, extremely (X10000.....) warm and humid in Penang that I couldn't even sit in our living room without breaking into a profuse sweat! Had to keep myself cool by lying absolutely still on the bed in our air-conditioned bedroom - imagine, I hardly turn on the A/C in the day in order to conserve electricity - but I had to do it today in order not to go mad!

It rained in the evening (thank God!) I went out with Rachel for dinner. Was very blessed. It was not merely because she treated me to Jap food and ice-cream - but being with a beloved friend and sister, that was such a treat, if not therapy. Being in her presence, pouring out my heart to her, listening to God speak through her (and encourage me regarding my greatest fears and doubts), hearing her stories, watching her unconsciously-funny antics, window-shopping and etc. My heart was very warm within me. In season, out of season... our friendship has been God's gift, helping each of us pull through some of the toughest times we've faced (or are facing). Thank You, Lord... so, so much!

Back home now... stuffed to the brim with food. Gonna do some chores, study and call it a day.
