Deepavali public holiday

Moved my Tuesday classes to Thursday (the girls I'm teaching are on a home-school holiday this Thursday anyway - and not today)... It was really a free-and-easy kind of holiday for me.

Tairven, Wee Lyn, the kids, and WL's parents paid us a visit in the afternoon ~ and blessed us loads with their presence. Please come again! :)

Hubs and I went window-shopping at Tesco's for the second time this week. I'm glad that he loves walking around the mall/supermarket as much as I do.

My parents-in-law paid us a visit in the evening. We had dinner together at a "dai chow" place where I bumped into a couple whom Ben and I got to know from a leadership course (MLM/EFCC) we attended together for 3+ years. When I met their son, T, who was dining with them, I was TREMENDOUSLY surprised ~ because I did not expect T to be the son of that couple! I never guessed that they belonged to one another.

I must sound a little batty... Let me explain a little further.

I've known T for some time ~~ T was my junior at PMC (we used to attend the same church in Dublin too). T also happens to be the guy whom Dr. S (at the seminary) had suggested me to talk to this year, for some reason. I did not know how or when I was supposed to talk to T ~ after all, I have not seen T ever since I left Dublin for Penang in 2006. Thankfully, God intervened ~ we met one another recently at our friends' wedding banquet. Chatted a while and exchanged numbers. I did not think that I'd bump into him again so soon - and that I would be so surprised to know who his parents are.

It's also funny that I've never met T in Penang before that wedding dinner ~ when I have been seeing his parents around so often! I have also never seen T with his parents prior to today. Penang is so small. It's a much smaller world on the island than the great big world to which it belongs. I mean... get to know one Penangite, and you'd quickly be able to realize that you both have at least one mutual friend somewhere on the island. Ben (my Penangite husband) often bumps into old friends wherever we go. But... in circumstances like this one, Penang seems to be larger than the world. At least to me.

This strange encounter seems like a gentle nudge from God that I should puff up the courage and talk to T again sometime soon.

Recently, God seems to have been using such encounters to get me to link up with the people He has arranged me to work with for the cause of His Kingdom. Indeed, He has been weaving our paths together even before we knew that we were supposed to meet. Imagine that.

Work starts early tomorrow... and so, I should go to bed. Have a great Wednesday, folks!
