Upon Tonight's Wrinkled Sky

Picture by Ben, using my not-so-stellar camera
Upon tonight's wrinkled sky
two lovers gazed,
The moon amongst the fickle clouds
amiable, shone unfazed.
A lamp to govern the night,
a sign to promise bold -
that the sun yet shines bright
on the other side of the world.
A sleep is near
so don't you fret.
Sleep over today's troubles,
burdens and regret.
The Maker of the moon,
the Author of the night,
He who grants sleep to His beloved -
will keep you safely in sight.
Lord, tonight we sleep in peace,
because in the sky darkest
we've beheld a sign of Your grace -
And tomorrow will not fail us.
