Wisdom... is knowing what to do with the knowledge that one has on hand... given the time and situation.
Knowledge...consists of the facts and information acquired through purposeful learning and life experiences. As long as we are intimately engaged with life as we know it... and as long as we examine and reflect on it from time to time, we will continue to learn new things. We acquire knowledge. We understand. We look up the less familiar and glean from the works of the learned. Some may go a little further and turn scholars to enlighten the rest of us. It is marvelous that God made us that way. There is always place for growth.
And we must know God. Not just about His existence, character and will.... but Him in the context and intimacy of a relationship ~ entered by no other way but turning our lives in to the risen Christ. I guess I am starting to sound like the evangelist at the corner of your street. He doesn't do what he does for no reason, you know. Humanly speaking, it is hard to mince one's words when lives are at stake... and so, merciful God, grant us Your wisdom in sharing Your gospel, for we often lack wisdom.
God's wisdom implores us to bind kindness and truth around our necks... to write them on the tablets of our hearts... so that we would find favour and good repute in the sight of God and man (Prov 3:3-4).
I pray that I might be loving and kind in my daily dealings with people... so that the gospel would not be hindered from reaching even the most obstinate, patience-trying and antagonistic.... so that God may ultimately be glorified.
God's wisdom enables us to glorify God with the knowledge we have of Him.
