32 weeks

To the dearest and darling-est S... who yet warms our hearts with your presence, and cheers us up with the daily anticipation of having you in our arms...

Daddy is looking forward to kiss your face. He wonders if you will be cheeky like him - or serious like mummy. Or if you will groan and moan when it is time to wake up in the morning (again, like mummy). I'm truly sorry if I haven't been setting you the best example...

Mummy is hoping that this lovely Irish hymn that she picked up while she was a pilgrim in Dublin (translated to English and modified over the years) would be your life's theme and prayer:

"Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art;
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, and I Thy true son,
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise;
Thou mine inheritance, now and always;
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my treasure Thou art.

High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heaven's Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all."

May the peace and joy of our Lord Jesus Christ fill you - and keep you contented.

Loving you,
Daddy and Mummy
