20.10.2014 ~

About a year ago, I began blogging about Sophie. My journey toward motherhood and beyond.

It has been a faith-stretching and humbling year for me. Never have I been on my knees more than I have in the year past. Searching, bargaining (haha), complaining, pleading and etc. I must have cried many teacups and coffee cups of tears. I do not cope very well with change.

One person I must thank for having been such a friend to me throughout my journey (there are of course quite a few more) celebrates her birthday today.

(She blogs gracefully here.)

To celebrate the amazing person that she is and her existence in this world, I thought I would blog her a short note:

Dearest Rachel,

For the past 7 years, you have graced my life with laughter, fattening food, good books and intriguing episodes of real life soap opera. But more than having been indulged (and I am shamelessly grateful), I am happy that you are my best friend because you are Rachel - talented, gorgeous and inspiring... yet down to earth, loving and giving (even while you were struggling with life and an illness). Thank you for always telling me that I am smart (hmmm) and being so encouraging when I needed it the most. As you have excelled in giving, I pray that God would empower you to excel even more in the year ahead... and as you do, may you be blessed beyond measure, fulfilled beyond expectations.

With much love,
The mom of your god-daughter
