When God speaks a word of comfort...

... nothing else matters.

Your struggles, fears and worries will suddenly pale in comparison to that surge of peace in your heart. And you will recognise the voice that speaks to you, even while it is inaudible to your physical ears. The storm may yet rage monstrous; turmoil may yet call out with unbridled power so that you might be troubled. But deep down inside, there is finally the rest that you have longed for as the Father - everlasting, sovereign and almighty - speaks over the cacophony: "Be still, and know that I am God..."

I experienced God's comfort tonight. It was... in a child's words... magical.

Speak to me again that I might be strengthened. Lord, in peace, I will both lie down and sleep, for You alone make me dwell in safety.
