Back from a weekend in Cameron Highlands
A dear friend of ours married his lovely wife the past weekend. Their matrimony took place at the All Souls Anglican Church (Cameron Highlands) on Saturday. I am so glad that Ben, Sophie, and I were able to be there to witness it. Simple service aside (and that was the most important part, just in case I seem shallow), the FOOD they served us during luncheon was SO GOOD. The wedding guests raved, especially, over the mutton curry. Sophie had tiny helpings of Basmati rice, potato kurma, and mild vegetable curry from our lot - and contrary to my fears that she would be squirming in our laps throughout lunch (without a high-chair with straps) - she was surprisingly still, mostly, while her parents ate and struck up conversations with their table mates. Way to go, sweetheart!
It also turned out to be a pleasant 2-nights-3-days stay up in the hills for my family - a much-needed break for us. While Ben fell sick on our last day, I am yet thankful that we got to spend all that time together, just the three of us. Sophie had loads of fun in our hotel room (being the active, curious toddler she is, she ran everywhere, climbed up and down our bed, hid among the curtains, played peekaboo, and explored every corner/item in the room), relished the cold air, and enjoyed our family outings tremendously. While she didn't eat much throughout our trip, which was to be expected, I didn't force feed her. Rather than stress myself sick over nutrition and her meagre food intake like I always do, I decided to let her have a little more formula milk than usual so that she could sample holiday food off our grown-up plates and not be pressured to eat if she didn't want to. We gave her powdered infant cereal only once. She snacked mostly on teething crackers. And that's that.
Well then, I will end here with some pictures from our trip:
