La Traviata and farewell to Alice

Was blessed with a free ticket to watch an opera with Dr. Jeanie, Pst. Tan Peng and Alice this evening.
Left to right: Pst. TP, Dr. J and Alice

It was fun. We had dinner, chit-chatted, went for a walk in Straits Quay... and then, the opera. This was actually my very first opera (before this I've only watched musicals, choirs, ballets and orchestras) ~ so I had no idea what to expect. Thankfully, I enjoyed it. What went through my mind while the opera was going on was this: "How can people be SO TALENTED?" ~ but I know that the performers must have put in a lot of hard work on top of their talents. Watching them was motivating.

Tonight was also my last time seeing and hanging out with Alice before she returns to Korea and begins her new mission. I will miss her ~ she has faithfully (and voluntarily) helped me out with my Korean throughout the year. She had that much patience. I am grateful.
